Web Design Assignment Reflection

Working on the Web Design assignment equipped me with a range of new skills, particularly in applying key design principles such as balance, contrast, and hierarchy. I focused on balance by ensuring that visual elements were evenly distributed across the page, creating a harmonious look. For contrast, I selected a bold color palette, using dark text on a light background to enhance readability and draw attention to important sections. I also employed visual hierarchy by organizing content with headings, subheadings, and bullet points, which helped guide the viewer's eye through the information smoothly. Overall, I appreciated the creative freedom of the project, though I found the technical aspects, such as coding and troubleshooting, somewhat challenging. These website design skills will be invaluable in my future career, allowing me to create user-friendly interfaces and engaging online content that can enhance communication and learning.

Creative Use of QR Codes in the Classroom

In the classroom, QR codes can serve as an innovative way to engage students and facilitate access to learning materials. For example, I could create QR codes that link to interactive lessons or supplementary videos related to our current curriculum. By placing these codes around the classroom or including them in printed materials, students can quickly scan them with their devices, allowing them to access additional resources on their own terms. This approach not only supports differentiated learning but also encourages students to take ownership of their learning journey, making the classroom experience more dynamic and interactive.

Ethical Use of Technology Case Study

Case Study: A teacher uses student data from an online learning platform to create personalized learning plans but does not inform parents about the data being collected, raising concerns about transparency and consent.

To address this situation, I would advocate for the implementation of a clear communication policy regarding data collection and usage. It is crucial to inform parents about what data is being collected, how it will be used, and who will have access to it. By establishing open lines of communication and seeking parental consent before collecting or using student data, we can uphold ethical standards in education. This not only protects student privacy but also fosters trust between educators and families, ensuring a collaborative approach to supporting student learning.
